A UK manufacturer supplying flavour, aroma and palatability solutions to the animal feed and pet food sectors has replaced manual pallet wrapping with a Robopac Masterplat Plus semi-automatic stretch wrapper supplied and installed by Severn Packaging.

Severn Packaging also supplies the machine stretch film used on the wrapper, giving the customer one point of contact for equipment, installation, operator training, responsive support and ongoing consumables.

The Customer

The customer is a British manufacturer of specialist animal nutrition ingredients serving feed and pet food producers in the UK and international markets. Its warehouse team prepares finished goods on pallets for storage and onward distribution.

The Challenge

Pallets were previously wrapped by hand. The process was slow, physically demanding and dependent on individual operator technique. It also took warehouse staff away from other tasks and made it harder to maintain the same film tension, coverage and load containment from one pallet to the next.

Operator training covered safe machine use, film loading, cycle selection, routine checks and establishing a suitable wrap pattern for the customer’s palletised products. The machine’s repeatable settings now help the warehouse team apply a controlled wrapping cycle rather than relying on manual technique.
