A leading UK manufacturer of pump diaphragms upgraded its packaging operation with the SEVERN-DT automatic bagging machine from Severn Packaging. The Customer
The customer manufactures specialist pump diaphragms for industrial applications. These components require robust, reliable packaging to protect them during storage, handling and transport.
The business was already using automatic bagging equipment, but the existing machine struggled to create consistent seals on the thicker 125-micron polyethylene bags required for the application.
The Challenge
Inconsistent sealing was affecting operator confidence and creating the risk of rework. The existing system also generated unnecessary bag waste during print setup and product changeovers, while the physical size and layout of the equipment made changeovers slower than required.

The Results
