Severn Packaging exhibited at London Packaging Week 2025, held at ExCeL London on 15 and 16 October, giving visitors the opportunity to see practical packaging automation and protective packaging solutions in operation.
The Severn stand brought together the SEVERN-DT tabletop bagging machine, AirWorks inflatable packaging solutions and a selection of packaging materials. The aim was simple: to show how machinery and consumables can be specified together to improve packing speed, consistency and product protection.
A successful London Packaging Week for Severn Packaging
The event generated a strong level of interest from businesses looking to improve packroom productivity, reduce repetitive manual tasks and review the materials used to protect products in transit.

For the Severn Packaging team, the quality of the discussions was as important as the number of enquiries. Visitors arrived with real products, throughput challenges and packaging objectives in mind, creating useful conversations about complete systems rather than isolated machines.
SEVERN-DT automatic bagging demonstrations
The SEVERN-DT was a central feature of the stand. Designed for use with pre-opened bags on a roll, the compact system opens and presents each bag for loading before completing the sealing process.
Its tabletop format makes it suitable for businesses that want to improve bagging productivity without immediately installing a large automated line. It can support a wide variety of products and can be configured around poly or paper bags, depending on the application.
Optional inline printing or labelling can also help businesses apply variable information during the packing process. This may include product identification, barcodes, batch information or despatch details, subject to the chosen configuration.
Visitors were particularly interested in how the system could provide a practical route away from fully manual bagging while retaining flexibility for different products and packing volumes.
AirWorks protective packaging in action
Alongside automatic bagging, the stand featured AirWorks inflatable protective packaging. Producing air cushions at the point of packing allows businesses to store compact rolls of film rather than large volumes of pre-inflated packaging.
Different cushion formats can be selected for void fill, wrapping and product protection. The correct option depends on the product, carton, journey and packing process rather than simply choosing the largest cushion available.
The live display helped demonstrate the connection between the inflation machine, delivery method and packaging material. Visitors could compare the compact material before inflation with the protective cushioning produced for use at the packing station.

Machinery and materials from one packaging partner
A recurring theme at London Packaging Week was the importance of considering machinery and materials together.
A bagging machine can only deliver a reliable pack when the bag dimensions, material construction and sealing settings are suitable for the product. In the same way, an inflatable packaging system must be matched with the right cushion format and workstation arrangement.
Severn Packaging works with customers to review the product, current packing method, throughput and required finished pack before recommending a system. Representative trials can then be used to confirm machine configuration, materials and operator workflow.
This joined-up approach also supports repeat supply. Once a material and packing method have been approved, forecasting and stock arrangements can be planned around expected consumption.
